Savneet Singh

Savneet Singh, Founder/Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Singh was an investment analyst at Chilton Investment Company where he covered investments in the technology, alternative energy and infrastructure space. Prior to Chilton, Mr. Singh was at Morgan Stanley in the investment banking division where he worked on large financial sponsor and strategic company transactions. Mr. Singh received his B.S. in Applied Economics and Management from Cornell University and currently serves on the boards of Ecologic Solutions and Stiki Digital.

Peter Custer

Peter Custer, Chief Technology Officer

Mr. Custer was recently Chief Technology Officer and Partner at Banksurance Services, Inc. where he developed systems for Wells Fargo Bank, Lloyds of London, and the Gates Foundation. He has over 20 years of experience leading the development of business technology solutions with clients including American Express, American Airlines, Anheuser Busch, Philadelphia Stock Exchange, Fermi Proton Accelerator, Los Alamos National Labs, and Arco Oil.

Marc C. Scher

Marc C. Scher, SVP/Head of Operations & Services

Mr. Scher is responsible for managing Operations, Services and Human Resources for the firm. Before joining, he spent 18 years at Merrill Lynch most recently as First Vice President (FVP) of services responsible for service delivery for ML’s Banking and Brokerage business. Prior to that he was FVP of operations in ML’s proprietary asset management division responsible for retail operations and services of its Mutual Funds, Separate Accounts and Alternative Investments business. During this time Mr. Scher was very active on multiple industry committees with the Investment Company Institute (ICI) both domestic and international. Mr. Scher graduated from Rutgers University.

Ed McCarthy

Ed McCarthy, Senior Vice President of Sales

Mr. McCarthy was previously Regional Vice President for Salient Partners responsible for business development and raising capital for The Endowment Fund, the largest "40 Act" registered fund of its kind.  Prior to Salient, Mr. McCarthy was a Director and derivative product specialist for Merrill Lynch.  His key roles included: engineering market-linked notes, hedging and monetizing concentrated stock positions, and managing the derivative overlay strategies platform. Mr. McCarthy's prior experience also includes: heading the U.S. Corporate Equity Derivatives Group for Calyon Corporate and Investment Bank, and heading the Fixed Income Sales team at Sumitomo Bank Securities. Mr. McCarthy began his career at Drexel Burnham Lambert in retail bond trading. He holds a MBA from Fordham University and BS in Marketing from Boston College.

Andrew Provencher, CFA, Head of Business Development

Andrew Provencher previously served as Managing Director and Head of Intermediary Distribution at Neuberger Berman.  Mr Provencher aslo served as a member of the firm’s Operating Committee.  During his tenure  Andrew  oversaw the growth of Neuberger's Separately Managed Account business to the 5th largest in the industry.  Other accomplishments include the launch of the firm’s first Closed End Mutual Fund, Private Equity Fund of Funds and advisor sold mutual fund share classes.  In 2008 Mr. Provencher's team was awarded Money Management Institute's (MMI) "Marketing Campaign of the Year" for its work with clients during the Lehman Brothers bankruptcy.  In 2011 his team was again recognized by  MMI as “Manager of the Year”.  Prior to joining Neuberger Berman in 1993, Andrew was an assistant portfolio manager for Diamant Asset Management. He earned a BA in Economics from Fairfield University and has been awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Dan Flynn, Vice President of Distribution

Dan Flynn was recently Vice President of Eaton Vance Distributors where he distributed and marketed mutual funds, separately managed accounts, closed-end funds, Reg-D private placements and overlay strategies. Mr.  Flynn raised $3 billion in new assets at Eaton Vance and participated in the largest closed-end offering in history (the $5.5 billion EV Tax-Managed Global Diversified Equity Income Fund, EXG) in February 2007. After he developed the marketing strategy for the Global Macro Absolute Return Fund, it became the fastest growing open-end mutual fund in the industry in 2009. Mr. Flynn received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from The University of Rochester.

Joe Yasinksi, Vice President of Distribution

Joe Yasinski was Vice President of Eaton Vance Distributors where he distributed and marketed mutual funds, separately managed accounts, closed-end funds, Reg-D private placements and overlay strategies. Yasinski was named managed account wholesaler of the year in 2007, and wirehouse wholesaler of the year in 2010 when he raised $1.2 billion. Over the course of his career he has raised in excess of $5 billion in assets. Prior to Eaton Vance Mr. Yasinski was Vice President for Salomon Brothers Asset Management covering Manhattan where he was wholesaler of the year in 2003 as the highest grossing salesman in the firm. Mr. Yasinski holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance from The University of Arizona.

General Wesley K. Clark

General Wesley K. Clark, Advisory Board

General Clark is a former four-star general in the United States Army and served as NATO’s Supreme Allied Commander, Europe, from 1997 to 2000. Currently, General Clark serves on the boards of Rodman & Renshaw, Argyle Security, Nutracea, AMG Advanced Metallurgical Group and Juhl Wind. General Clark graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1966. He received a Masters in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University where he was a Rhodes Scholar.

Arthur Levitt

Arthur Levitt, Advisory Board

Mr. Levitt was the 25th Chairman of the United States Securities and Exchange Commission. First appointed by President Clinton in July 1993, the President reappointed Chairman Levitt to a second five-year term in May 1998. In September 1999, he became the longest-serving Chairman of the Commission. He left the Commission in February 2001. Mr. Levitt joined The Carlyle Group in May 2001 as a Senior Advisor to the firm. He advises Carlyle management on strategic business matters.

Before joining the Commission, Mr. Levitt owned Roll Call, a newspaper that covers Capitol Hill. From 1989 to 1993, he served as the Chairman of the New York City Economic Development Corporation, and from 1978 to 1989, he was the Chairman of the American Stock Exchange. Prior to joining the Amex, Mr. Levitt worked for 16 years on Wall Street.

Mr. Levitt graduated from Williams College, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, in 1952 before serving for two years in the Air Force. Levitt’s bestselling book, TAKE ON THE STREET: What Wall Street and Corporate America Don’t Want You to Know/What You Can Do to Fight Back was published by Pantheon Books in October, 2002.

John Hathaway

John Hathaway, Advisory Board

John Hathaway, Senior Managing Director, is a Portfolio Manager and a member of the Investment Committee at Tocqueville Asset Management L.P. He is also a Director of Tocqueville Management Corp., the General Partner of Tocqueville Asset Management.
 
Mr. Hathaway, who has 39 years of investment experience, manages the Tocqueville Gold Fund, Tocqueville Gold Partners and separate accounts for individual and institutional clients following a gold strategy.
 
Prior to joining Tocqueville in 1998, Mr. Hathaway began his career in 1970 as an Equity Analyst with Spencer Trask & Co. In 1976 he joined the investment advisory firm David J. Greene and Company, where he became a Partner. In 1986 he founded and managed Hudson Capital Advisors followed by seven years with Oak Hall Advisors as the Chief Investment Officer.
 
Mr. Hathaway has a B.A. degree from Harvard College, an M.B.A. from the University of Virginia and is a CFA charter holder.

Dan Tapiero

Dan Tapiero, Investor/Advisory Board

Mr. Tapiero manages a global macro portfolio in partnership with Steve Cohen at SAC Capital. Previously, he managed a private investment vehicle, DTAP Capital. In his 20 year career, he has also worked for other well known investors such as Stan Druckenmiller (Duquesne Capital), Michael Steinhardt (Steinhardt Capital) and, early in his career, Julian Robertson (Tiger Management).  Mr. Tapiero also co-founded AGCOA, a private U.S. farmland REIT. He is on the membership committee of the Economic Club of New York and is a member of Business Executives for National Security (BENS). He is also a former member of the grain commodity exchanges KCBT, MGEX and WCE. Mr. Tapiero graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a BA in 1990 and an MA in History in 1991 from Brown University.

Ian MacDonald

Ian MacDonald, Advisory Board

Mr. MacDonald worked as Executive Director of the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) where he launched a $200MM Shariah compliant asset management company for the Government of Dubai. Previously, Mr. MacDonald worked in the precious metals divisions of Commerzbank AG, Credit Suisse, and Billiton (UK).
